Much awaited tool to know your EPF Balance has been launched by Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (Ministry of Labour & Employment Government of India) on 1st July 2011.
This tool is not full fledged application to manage entire EPF portfolio online.But, It will send SMS to your mobile with last updated EPF information on given mobile no.This tool is available only for Delhi (North), Delhi (South), Laxmi Nagar (Delhi), Gurgaon, Faridabad, Karnal and Bangalore EPFO offices.Later all other EPFO offices will be added.
How to know your EPF Balance:
1) Go to http://www.epfindia.com/MembBal.html ( http://www.epfindia.com/ )
2) Select your EPFO Office where PF account it maintained.
3) Enter your PF Account Number – Don’t enter Extension (4th field). Identifying the correct value in each field is little complicated.
Example : Bangalore PF Account Number format = KN/12345/9876 then just enter 12345 in 3rd field, 4th field blank and 9876 in 5 th field in PF account number as shown below.
4) Enter your Mobile and Name, Accept Terms and condition and Submit.
You will get SMS alert from EPFO : EE amount : Rs XXXXX and ER amount Rs:XXXXX as on <Today's Date>(Account updated upto <31-03-2009>).
EE = Employee Contribution and ER = Employer Contribution on date(shown in Account updated date) mentioned in your SMS. It does not show current balance of PF Account as on Today.
If you do not enter your PF account in correct format then It shows Invalid PF account error. Please use different combination to get it right till we get more details about PF account number correctly.
If you get error while open "know your EPF balance" page then please try again after sometime.It shows error sometimes.
